Accelerating and Amplifying our Conservation
and Education Impact
We are so excited to reveal the public phase of our Waves of Progress campaign to the community at our 2017
Lights Out Gala, “a Swashbuckler’s Soirée!” We are humbled by the excitement and support we have been able
to generate in our campaign’s quiet phase and we look forward to engaging our community to build an exciting
The Future of Loggerhead Marinelife Center is Bright!
LMC’s current campus debuted in 2007 to great fanfare, welcoming 100,000 guests. In 2015 LMC’s campus welcomed
a record-setting 300,000+ guests and offered the largest portfolio of services and programming in the history of our
Center, making the campus one of the top visited cultural destinations in Palm Beach County.
Over the past year, LMC made significant progress in setting a strong foundation of fundraising during our quiet phase.
2017 marks the launch of our Waves of Progress expansion campaign which will allow our center to rehabilitate more
sea turtle patients, educate more students and welcome additional guests and visiting scientist from around the globe.
As you can see from the renderings, our preliminary building plans have started to take shape. Over the next year
LMC will educate the public about the critical programs on campus and how this expansion will allow our Center
to significantly increase our programming impact through educational and scientific experiences.
Our Proposed Expansion Will:
- Expand our sea turtle hospital and sea turtle hospital tanks
- Expand our research laboratory
- Provide new classroom space
- Provide presentation spaces for guest lecturers and visiting scientists
- Expand our exhibit spaces
