Admission Note 5/26/08 This underweight sub-adult loggerhead was found by the biologists at the power plant. This turtle is also slightly anemic. We expect that good nutrition will provide a complete recovery for this turtle. She has quite an active appetite which is encouraging.
Initial weight: 66 lbs. |
Progress Note 7/24/08: Arlington's recent blood work shows the red blood cell count doubled in the last 4 weeks! That means it is almost in the normal range but not quite. Because it is still anemic we need to continue supportive care with iron rich foods. There is a superficial skin infection that we are treating with routine cleaning with topical antimicrobial solution. Arlington is scheduled to be routinely de-wormed this weekend and may be ready to release in the next 4-6 weeks.

| Giving Arlington a daily scrub to treat his skin infection |
Progress Note 7/22/08: Arlington just completed a course of Baytril Antibiotic treatment today for a skin Infection and is receiving daily scrubs to promote healing. The Rash is improving and this turtle will be released when bloods return to a normal level.
